Richard and Jo White joined the Saxons Club five years ago and in that time they have taken part in many races from parkruns to cross country’s and half marathons. Both have achieved many PBs and top 10 age group positions along the way.
James Wilson, Head Coach, said: “In addition to being regular Club members, Richard and Jo have in the last few years been active members on the 5 Mile Race committee and also became our club representatives on the main sports club committee.
“They have both been fantastic members and will be truly missed by everyone. Thank you Jo and Richard for all the work and effort you have put into the Club and everyone at the Saxons wishes you all the best with your future endeavours.”
Jo White said: “We have loved being part of the amazing Saxons. When we moved to Saxmundham and saw the running club sign in the window of the club house we thought why not! One of the best decisions we ever made. We had taster session with Gordon and this dispelled any ideas that we were anywhere near fit! The club was much smaller but so welcoming, friendly, inclusive, encouraging and we have seen it grow into what it is now, still all of those wonderful things only bigger.
“We have enjoyed every minute of it and have felt so proud to be part of such an amazing group of people. The coaches are fantastic as are all the committee members. It is your commitment, time, enthusiasm and vision for the Club that makes it what it is and we very much include Gordon in all of this. He has been a huge source of support particularly to me when I started doing triathlons. We very much value the friendships we have made and will miss you very much.”
