Sunday 4th October 2026 The Saxons Five Mile Race.

The Saxons are looking forward to welcoming you to compete in our Five Mile Race.

The Saxons 5 Mile Race (Race licence 31039) is held at Saxmundham Running & Fitness, Carlton Park, Saxmundham, IP17 1AT.

The main race starts at 11 am and is open to all runners aged 15 and over.

Taking place on Sunday 4th October 2026, the Saxons 5 Mile Race is a chip timed, multi terrain run on playing field, footpaths and off road that is fully marshalled and sign posted. There will be winner’s prizes and a race memento for every finisher!

The route takes runners from the sports field at Carlton Park Sports Ground towards Brook Farm Road and Kelsale, where it then loops round and finishes back at the sports field.

Affiliated runners £16 Unaffiliated runners £18.

Please note, we do not offer refunds or deferrals. If you cannot take part and know somebody to transfer your place to, please access the contact link on the registration page and provide your details and the details of the runner who will be taking your place.

ENTER THE RACE

Junior Fun Run

A Junior Fun Run starts at 10.15 am and is one lap of the sports field (1km) for ages 8 and under or two laps of the sports field (2km) for ages 9-14. Entry for the Junior Fun Run is £3 – registration and payment on the day (cash only). Medals for all finishers in the junior fun runs.

Race HQ

Saxmundham Running & Fitness Club, (The Saxons), Carlton Park Sports Pavilion, Carlton Park, Saxmundham IP17 1AT.

Free marshallled car parking, changing facilities and toilets on site. Please note there is no bag drop.

Race numbers are to be collected from Race HQ on the day from 9.30 am to 10.45 am. The timing chip is stuck on the back of the race bib and safety pins are provided to attach to the front of your running vest / T-shirt. Pens are also provided to fill in your details and emergency contact number.

The use of earphones is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.
Start and finish locations are on the field. The start is at the top of the sports field a 5 – 10 minute walk from registration. The race will commence at 11 am.

A wide variety of cakes are available at the refreshments stall.

Results 2026 will be published on My Race Results.

Five Mile Race Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 male and first 3 female finishers. There are also prizes for first F40, F45, F50, F55, F60, F65, F70, F75+ and first M40, M45, M50, M55, M60, M65, M70 M75+

Only one prize per person. All finishers will receive a race memento. Prizes for first Male and Female teams (first 3 finishers to score.)
