Saxons Invade Land, Coast and Forest!

A great turn-out of club members saw the Saxons running in a number of local fixtures and runs, contending with sand, tree roots and wind at the Ipswich Twilight 5k, the Heritage Coastal 10k and Half Marathon and the Rendlesham parkrun. All saw some fantastic running and new PBs from seasoned runners and first timers!

At Rendlesham Forest parkrun (Sat 3rd May) the Saxons dominated, with more than 20 runners and others in supporting roles.

As part of the Saxons on Tour calendar of fun runs, the Rendlesham Forest parkrun offered a mixed terrain course with a route that passes the old airfield. The natural environment provided a beautiful backdrop for participants and all the Saxons enjoyed it.

The next date in the Saxons on tour of Suffolk parkruns will see club members descend on Sizewell Parkrun on 7 June. Feel free to join us, and talk to any of the friendly Saxons if you then want to join the club!

Heritage Coastal 10k saw the Saxons winning the 10k team competition with Chris Fuller winning the local runner cup.
