I have been a coach for The Saxons for nearly a decade. In that time I have led running, fitness, track and beginners’ sessions which means I have had the pleasure to help many members fulfil their goals no matter how big or small.

I got into coaching for The Saxons to help people on their running journey.
Chris Lucas
Level 2 Coach
Holds an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness Level 2 (CiRF) and Leaders (LiRF) Qualification.
I started coaching in 2010, encouraged by Gordon Merfield. I loved the different running sessions at club and seeing members turning up in all weathers to improve fitness and set goals to smash their personal bests. In 2014, I obtained a CiRF Qualification and more recently became an England Athletics adjudicator.
Tina Church
Level 2 Coach
Holds an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness Level 2 (CiRF) and Leaders (LiRF) Qualification.
I joined the club in 2012 as a supporting role for my son. This progressed to becoming a Leader in Running Fitness LiRF (2015) to help with the club sessions. As the club has grown I became a Coach in Running Fitness CiRF (2025) to help to support the club and encourage members to achieve their individual goals.

Coaching has given me the opportunity to help The Saxons continue to thrive so that others can enjoy this great club. Being a part of The Saxons enables me to spend time with a friendly bunch of people.
