Wollaton Park in Nottingham was the venue for the final event of the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships series 2026 supported by UK Athletics.
First starting out in 1926 the Inter Counties competition is known for its history and being a key point on the cross-country calendar.
Flying the flag for The Saxons was our very own head coach James Wilson competing in the Senior Men 10k.
Demonstrating true grit and determination after still recovering from a nasty flu, James ran an outstanding race of 36:17 coming 217 out of 293 and 6th out of 9 runners representing Suffolk.
James said: “I’m proud to have run for Suffolk for a 5th time and had my little family shouting and cheering me on. Running for Suffolk has always meant a lot to me, and thanks everyone for your support.”
Congratulations James you’ve done yourself, Suffolk, and The Saxons proud!
