An impressive 5 Saxons teams took on the Ekiden Relay on 5th July 2026. The popular event sees club runners compete in a Marathon distance split between a team of 6 runners. 

The Saxons entered five teams of one Vet 60 mixed team, one Speedy ladies team, one Speedy men’s team and two mixed teams.

Our speedy men team achieved a top 10 finish and beat our Ekiden club record of 2 hours 45 mins by an impressive 4 mins. 

The record has stood for 14 years, our head coach James was in that team 14 years ago! All 5 teams finished in under 4 hours. A fantastic effort from everyone.
